Who this is for
You’d rather do your own PR than pay an agency.
You have news to share and people on your team who can pitch it. What you need is a PR strategy, and you’re not ready to sign a retainer to get one. This session gives you the strategy, built around the team and budget you already have.
Since 2010, Tracy has advised more than 150 organizations on getting the right attention, from startups to Johns Hopkins. In one session, she can show you where your organization stands and build a plan your team can run for the challenge you pick.
How it works
In 90 minutes, you’ll have a PR strategy your team can start running.
The session is built to get you answers fast on the topic you choose, based on what’s happening in your industry and how your competitors are getting attention.
01
Before you meet with Tracy · 2 hours
Competitive assessment
After you book, we send you a short worksheet. You use it to pick the topic or two you want to prioritize. Then Tracy spends two hours assessing how you show up now, where you stand against your competitors, and what’s working for other organizations in your space.
02
On Zoom · 90 minutes
Strategy session
Tracy walks you through her findings, then the session focuses on your priority. You’ll leave knowing what to do first and how to do it with the team and budget you have. If there’s time, you’ll touch on related topics.
03
Same day
Your PR strategy
Later that day, you’ll receive your written PR strategy for the topic you chose, plus a recording and an interactive transcript to share with your team.

Questions people ask before booking
Who is this for?
Startups, nonprofits, and companies that want a PR strategy they can run on their own before they hire an agency or a publicist. If you’re not sure it’s the right fit, email Tracy at Tracy@ThePRAccelerator.com before you book.
How do we pick what to focus on?
When you book, you’ll get a worksheet and a Google Drive folder. Use the worksheet to tell Tracy the topic or two you want to prioritize. Her assessment and your session focus on that. If there’s time, you’ll touch on related PR topics.
Who from our organization should join?
Whoever will run the strategy, such as a founder, an executive director, or the person who handles your marketing and communications. The recording and transcript make it easy to share with the rest of your team.
What happens after we book?
You’ll immediately receive a calendar invitation with a Zoom link. Our team will follow up with a worksheet to complete and a Google Drive folder to upload any materials you’d like Tracy to see, such as your messaging, past pitches, or press coverage. Your worksheet answers and materials must be received at least five full business days before your session to give Tracy time for the assessment.
What if we have more than one challenge?
You can cover a couple of topics in 90 minutes, but the session works best when you focus. Tell Tracy on the worksheet what you’re dealing with, and she’ll let you know what she thinks you should prioritize.
Do we need any PR tools before the session?
No. If choosing tools is one of your priorities, Tracy will tell you what to use and what to skip based on your budget and your team.
Will our messaging be finished in 90 minutes?
Not necessarily. If messaging is your challenge, Tracy will work on it with you in the session, and you’ll leave with recommendations that fit your goals and clear next steps for refining it.
Can we reschedule?
You may reschedule once using the link in your confirmation email. There is a $500 fee for rescheduling the day of your session.
Do you guarantee results?
No. What Tracy offers is her assessment and her recommendations, based on 15 years in newsrooms and, since 2010, advising hundreds of experts and more than 150 organizations on getting the right attention.
What if we want more help after?
Then we talk about it. Some organizations take the strategy and run with it. Others ask our publicists to design full campaigns their team runs, through the PR Accelerator for your brand or the PR Accelerator for groups of experts.
